Singaraja– Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha accepted 15 foreign students. This further strengthens Undiksha as a university with an international reputation. The students were accepted directly by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd in the Ganesha III Room of the Rectorate, Thursday (5/9/2024). He was accompanied by the Head of the Foreign Student Management Center, Prof. Putu Indah Rahmawati, Ph.D.
These foreign students come from Uzbekistan, Germany, and Timor Leste. They are taking education in the Management Undergraduate Study Program, the Culinary Arts Vocational Education Undergraduate Study Program, the Law Undergraduate Study Program, and the English Language Education Undergraduate Study Program. In addition, there are three students from China who are taking part in the internship program at the Balingkang Confucius Institute.
The Rector of Undiksha, Prof. Lasmawan expressed his appreciation to these students for choosing Undiksha as a place to study. It is said that the presence of foreign students shows that Undiksha has succeeded in spreading its wings in the international world, this is also in line with Undiksha’s vision and mission. These foreign students are expected to be able to spread Undiksha’s excellence in providing education, services, and so on. So, Undiksha can be increasingly known by the wider community both nationally and internationally.
Through this opportunity, it was also emphasized to the Dean and Coordinator of Study Programs to provide the best service and invite foreign students to be directly involved in various activities, both academic and non-academic.
In 2024, Undiksha will be in 5th position as the campus with the most foreign students in Indonesia. However, optimization steps need to be taken continuously, both by faculties and units. This is important to support the realization of internationalization at home initiated by Undiksha and specifically to achieve the vision of the rector for the 2023-2027 period, namely to make Undiksha a university with an international reputation in the fields of education and leadership.
